The BCCNM does not “approve” specific aesthetic courses but does expect nurses to complete structured additional education that meets these essential criteria:

âś… Includes both theoretical and practical components
âś… Has clear, measurable learning outcomes
âś… Provides supervised, hands-on clinical training
âś… Includes objective evaluation of competency
Nurses must also ensure that:
- Injectable treatments like Botox and dermal fillers are provided only with a valid client-specific order from a physician or nurse practitioner
- The ordering professional is physically present and available during treatment
- They remain within their individual scope of practice and maintain documentation in line with BCCNM standards
